Starving children in Africa, pollution all over Johannesburg...fabled promises by the government- yes my friends, this is reality.
However, the moment you pick up that oh-so-integrated remote control to switch away from the hassles of the day. To zone into your own world in front of that Turbo inched TV, for your favourite program; just remember that your favourite TV program doesn't show you all the girls being kidnapped to be used as sexual slaves in the Congo, it does not show you all the 16yr old boys being taught how to handle a riffle in Etheopia. I am not negatively dictating that your tv viewing should be a string of immoral, depressing and uppercut unwarrantable TV, but all I am trying to say is, keep in touch with the world, keep in touch with the reality of what is happening in and around your world. The implicit situation of the on going and poverty situations in our land is happening in your backyard. If the media can brazenly show you Justin Beiber skating without his t-shirt and call it worth while news, and you stare at it and take it as gospel, imagine the difference you and I could make if we gave as much attention to the Aids victims that we are so impious about.
Let's man up and show support where support is needed.
When are we gonna learn?!?!
ReplyDeleteAnd ironically we are smart enough to know what's right and wrong but choose to look the other way...
