BONGO MAFFIN

Bongo Maffin have been around since I was in primary.  I have always loved their music and what they stand for.  A Xhosa girl from Eastern Cape/Soweto, a Tswana dude from Mafikeng and a killa MC from Zimbabwe with Shona roots, fused a group that stands for what Africanism is about...culturally, politically and socially.

They haven't released an album together in about 8years now, and this year, 2014, they're getting back together to hit us with some of that Bongo magic!! I personally cannot wait.

This time around Speedy (an original member of the group) is riding the music with them...and man can hit those notes.

All I can say is...Uptown, downtown...are you ready?!!!

No returns

You best make sure that whatever you buy at Table Mountain fits you, is what you want, it's something that the person that you're buying it for is exactly what they either want or needs... because Cape Town is far to "return" the item yo!

Old skool

This is Lawrence.  We went to high school together.  I hadn't seen him in years since our high school days.  But every time I go and hang out at the oh-so-popular Shisa Nyama, Midcorner in Zone 14, Sebokeng- lo and behold I will bump into him.

cool guy :)

Beaty in Cape Town

I met these two ladies on our trip to Cape Town, Lebo (center) and Palesa (right).  We had quite a mind blowing time while we were there.  These ladies know how to have fun...and I suppose when you're in such a dope place (for lack of a better word) like the Mothercity...you can't help but just let go and have a merry-ol'-time.

A good friend indeed

This is a good friend Vuyo and me.  We took this pic at my house in 2013, and we both haven't grown aged a bit.  Good looks aren't made, you're just born with them.

BLACK AND PROUD!

A date with everything on the Table

It was a hot morning...degrees about 35...I was tired from the night before as I was out drinking.  I had already planned the day, and the plan was to go up Table Mountain and later on go chill at one of the many magnificent Cape Town beaches.  As I got to Table Mountain, I see a queue that stretches miles on end.  I was hot, tired and a bit hungry I must admit.  My mom standing by my side, hot and also quite anxious, we look at this queue and think: "is this really worth it?"  We get our tickets, wait in the long line and pray that we get there in one piece.  After about 20min of waiting, we finally get to the front of the line, and finally go past the pretty gates.  Our ticket stubs were checked, and we take the elevator and finally get into the cable car.  The cable car moves about 1000+ feet into the air...looking down feels like you're flying!!  We finally get to the top of the mountain and as we get off, the first thing we think is: foooood!!!

We buy all you can eat, eat ourselves silly, and think to ourselves, it's now time to shop til we drop...and boy did we.  We literally spent two hours on that magnificent and amazing God's wonder.  That mountain is breath taking...to say the least.  So if you have never been up Table Mountain, do yourself a favour, and make a date with God on that Mountain.  You will fall in love!

The Caves on our way to Cape Town: what a blessing

These are the Cargo Caves which we visited on our way to Cape Town last year December.  It was really interesting visiting them and taking a tour in the caves.  I was really impressed and intrigued when I found out that people in the past would hold concerts in the caves.  I wish I could have been at one of those concerts...it seems like it must've been really dope.

This beats an Easter Egg

HAPPY EASTER :)
